Horrible Death

XIV. I Went to Thank Her

XIV.

I went to thank her,
But she slept;
Her bed a funnelled stone,
With nosegays at the head and foot,
That travellers had thrown

Who went to thank her;
But she slept.
’T was surprising to find her dead
When just the other day I received
Her package. I guess the mail is slow.

A sadder occasion.
